In what is probably the biggest upset in the realms of archery, our own County Secretary Max and some bloke called Doc (apparently he’s County Chair) rocked up and managed to win the Hingham Bowmen Hit Miss Express last weekend!

Having bounced around the middle targets, they found themselves on target 7 with 6 matches to go. Undeterred by the mocking from their fellow archers (looking at you Damien!), and the surprise of those who’ve never seen Doc shoot in several years of archery, they worked out that winning all their matches would see them in the final, and thus began their now legendary run!

Not only did they win 6 on the bounce to make the final, they actually went and took the victory against last years winners, with Max sealing a hit in the shoot off to bring home the win!

In an interview after the shoot neither could believe this had actually happened. Doc was particularly concerned this could give people an unrealistic expectation that he is actually an archer! Max also had to concede that his comments that if he’d wanted to win he’d have brought Layla may have been unfair…
